Important Update! A New Rule For Price Placing In Orders

New rule for price placing on the EXMO cryptocurrency exchange. New information for clients working with API. Read carefully!

In the announcement on April 29, we informed you about a new rule for price settings in Bitcoin orders: you can use no more than 2 decimal places. It is essential for users who work with the exchange through the API. If you do not change the software settings, an error will be displayed, and the operation will be canceled automatically.

We planned on introducing these changes on May 13, 2020. However, we soon realized that we had not sufficiently informed our customers. To avoid a massive number of mistakes while placing orders, we decided to postpone the entry-into-force of the new rule, and also introduce a restriction of decimal places for some other pairs.

Let’s cover the essence of the update and its implementation stages once more.

Changes in pair settings

We plan on introducing the following changes in the pair settings:

The number of decimal places in the “Price” field when creating an order for some pairs will change.
The size of the minimum order in some pairs will change.

It is essential for users who work with the exchange through the API.

All changes are displayed in the API in the pair_settings method in the price_precision parameter, which shows the maximum number of decimal places for correct order placing.

You need to configure your software so that the price_precision criterion is taken into account when placing an order. Otherwise, the operation will be automatically canceled, and you will receive an error.

Implementation stages of the new rule

Changes will be introduced in 3 stages:
